Pre-symposium Technical Tour

Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Khao Yai - Chanthaburi

(Minimum 20 persons and maximum 40 persons)


The 3-day-3-night tour takes participants to several tropical fruit orchards as well as cultural attractions in the Central, Northeastern and Eastern Thailand. Participants will first meet in Bangkok and then travel by air-conditioned buses to Ayutthaya, a former capital of Thailand and a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Participants will visit historic ruins of the city that preceded Bangkok as the capital of Thailand as well as enjoy an elephant ride. The tour will then travel through Khao Yai, the oldest National Park in Thailand and another UNESCO World Heritage Site.  In additional to visiting several orchards in the area, the tour will visit a renowned Pak Thong Chai Silk Village, where traditional craft of silk-making is still preserved.  Then, the tour will travel along a scenic route heading to Eastern Thailand where we will visit Mushroom Orchard in Wan Nam Kiew, an area regarded as "ozone source No. 7 in the world". From there, the tour will travel to Chanthaburi, the site of the symposium, while making stops at exotic tropical fruit orchards along the way.


The tour fee includes 3 nights of hotel room (18-19-20 May 2012), all meals and snacks during the trip, transportation by air-conditioned buses, and all entrance fees at various attractions.
