The Organizing and Scientific Committees invite authors for oral and poster presentations on any of the symposium topics. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to the Conference Convener

Abstracts should be written in Time New Roman12, single-spaced and should not exceed 300 words. Abstracts must include the title of the paper, the author name(s) and institution(s) along with the telephone, fax, and E-mail address of the corresponding author. Please indicate whether you wish the paper to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster. Abstracts will be published in the book of abstracts only if the presenting author has registered by the due date. Authors will be informed about the status of their contribution on 31 January 2012.


Please note: the language of the symposium is English only, and no translation facilities are foreseen.


Guidelines for Preparation of Abstracts

Abstract must be prepared as a Microsoft Office Word file.


Page size : A4 paper


Margin : Top, bottom 25 mm; Left, right 30 mm.


Font : Time New Roman


Title :  Font size 14, Centered with bold capital letters


Authors : Name in full (not only initials) followed by the surname.

Superscript numbers must be used to indicate the author’s

affiliation.  Font size 12.


Abstract : The length of abstract must not exceed 300 words.

Font size 12.


Keywords : List no more than five keywords not used in the title.

Font size 10.

Oral and poster presentations

There will be oral presentations during plenary sessions, and poster presentations during a dedicated poster session. Please indicate your preference for oral or poster presentation at the time of abstract submission. Only one oral presentation is allowed per registered participant. However, there is no limitation on the number of posters presented per registered participant. The preference for oral or poster presentation specified by the authors at submission is indicative only. Final decisions on whether a presentation is accepted as oral or poster will be made by the scientific committee on the basis of the abstracts submitted. We hope you will understand that it may not be possible to accommodate all requests for oral presentations.



Full papers for symposium proceedings

All authors of accepted abstracts (both oral and poster presentations) are requested to submit a full paper by 15 April 2012 at the latest, for inclusion in the symposium proceedings, that will be sent to each participant after the symposium. Full papers must not exceed 8 pages including all tables, figures, and references except for invited and keynote speakers, and should follow the Acta Horticulturae publication guidelines.
